Head Rocker Jessica Lonergan and

Auctioneer Frank Lonergan steal the show

“Woodside Rocks the House! The Grand Auction was an off-the-charts Billboard hit.The sold-out show hit GRAMMY®- worthy levels as the wigged-out, eye- lashed, studded-leather rockers raised their paddles, breaking serious records! From our local dive bar to the glam-rock, hot-pink, zebra-clad dining room, the black top will never be the same to those who truly rocked the house on May 21st. Thank you Elvis, Axel, Billy and every star in between; you did it again!”
 - Jessica Lonergan, Grand Auction Chair 2011

The Spring 2011 Grand Auction

More than 420 people “Rocked the Casbah” under two big tents at the 2011 Grand Auction, “Rockstar!”—surpassing 2010’s record attendance. The night of fun and fundraising unleashed our hidden rocker identities, from Abba to ZZ Top. As the Silent Auction gave way to the Live Auction, a motorbike-riding rocker led the crowd through a back-stage tunnel past screaming fans. In the big tent, the revelers were treated to a surprise performance by the all-parent rock band “Parental Indiscretion.” Rockstar! was a roaring success with the evening festivities and a highly successful online auction held two weeks prior.

The Grand Auction is a year-round affair. More than 100 volunteers worked for many months gathering donations and managing every detail, and more than 450 school families, classrooms, kids, community members and local businesses donated items. During the coming months we will reap the benefits of all this largesse as we enjoy the myriad one-of-a-kind events and activities that draw our community closer throughout the next year.

FUND-A-NEED

Raise your hand if you love math! And the rockers raised their paddle! At the request of the teachers, administration and School Board, the Grand Auction fund- a-need was dedicated to financing a new math curriculum, materials and training for our teachers.
