It is with great pleasure that we welcome you to the Woodside Middle School. New and exciting adventures and experiences await you. Because you may have questions about the start of the school year, we created this the Middle School Handbook that includes information about school times, schedules, locker assignments, lunchtime clubs and enrichment classes.
Classes begin at 8:25 a.m. If you arrive early, the library opens at 8:10 a.m, and is a quiet zone for students wishing to study or complete homework. If you arrive after 8:25, please go to the office for a tardy slip, before you go to class. The school day ends at 3:10, except Wednesday when we end at 2:30 p.m. Please remember not to ride bikes on campus until after 3:30.
This years Middle School schedule will consist of eight 43-minute periods with an 8th period elective/enrichment class. Middle School students will continue to have a seven-period day on Wednesdays with no elective. Middle School students will also have the option of taking taking additional physical fitness classes on Tuesday and Thursday or a music elective. There will be zero period (before school) offerings for additional music (e.g. Chamber Music, Jazz Club, History Club, and Chorus). In addition there will be clubs and enrichment classes that meet during lunch (e.g. Student Council).
